Legal Nurse Consultant

 

As a Consultant Legal Nurse, we case manage and within this role evaluate Medical Records in regard to Medical Practice, Guidelines, Codes of Practice and Expected Standards of Care. This is for both the legal profession and the coroners courts. We also practice in association with the legal profession as a Nurse researcher for civil and most significant high profile cases in the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland, UK and USA.

Definition: A Legal Nurse Consultant (LNC) are registered nurses who work within the Legal Profession and also other professionals (in the legal field). We act as fact witnesses in medical cases, such as medical malpractice, personal injury or workers’ compensation.

Legal nurse consultants are familiar with medical chronology and case analysis. We provide support to litigation teams that examine medical cases. We look into case files to review medical records and other information that can help the team reach a conclusion. Ultimately, an LNC can offer crucial assistance to the legal process, as their expertise can provide the level of depth and authority that further solidifies a legal case.
